School Closure

Implementation of the Continuous Learning Plan will begin in the 1^stweek of June, 2020. Continuous Learning Plan will include information on how students and families can access the various learning options included in the plan. Additionally, important contact information on how to access technology support, and other services will also be included.

Further, the school administration will be conducting a telephonic survey of students and families in addition to the survey form given at the end in order for them to provide feedback on necessary adjustments needed to increase the effectiveness of teaching and learning.

• Establish daily routines for engaging in the learning experiences (e.g. 8:00am start)
• Identify a comfortable, quiet space in your home where you can work effectively and successfully
•  Regularly monitor online platforms (Vimala Public School App developed by VIMALA PUBLIC SCHOOL APP DEVELOPED BY SACTIN, Google GSuite (including Gmail, Docs, Classroom, Hangouts, Meet, etc.), Official Class wise Whatsapp group, email, etc.) to check for announcements and feedback from your teachers
• Attend the class regularly at the allotted time.
• Complete assignments with integrity and academic honesty, doing your best work
• Do your best to meet timelines, commitments, and due dates
• Communicate proactively with your teachers if you cannot meet deadlines or require additional support
• Collaborate and support your VIMALA PUBLIC SCHOOL peers in their learning
•  Comply with our School Policy, including expectations for online etiquette
• Proactively seek out and communicate with other officials at VIMALA PUBLIC SCHOOL as different needs arise.

•  Monitor how much time your child is spending online
• Keep your children social, but set rules around their social media interactions
• Make sure your ward is not missing any classes
• Be a strict invigilator during their online exams
• Be a caring counselor when they find any difficulty in coping up with the situation

Vimala Public School will continue to use the same channels it employs for routine day-to-day communications with parents, students, and faculty/staff. All of these systems are remotely accessible and will function in an emergency. They contain auditing tools that will allow the management to ensure that all students and parents are receiving vital communications. The table below describes these systems:

Families should expect more specific information from the school(s) and teacher(s) that directly serve their students. Staff and administrators are working behind the scenes to ensure each of our students has an opportunity to continue learning.  

• Will be available to teachers, parents, and students during regular school hours
• Communicate weekly messages to students/families
• Conduct weekly scheduled meetings (virtual) with teachers
• Support staff and students/families shifting to a continuous learning environment
• Support all teachers and teams with the implementation of the VIMALA PUBLIC SCHOOL CLP& APP
• Assist teachers with creating activities
•  Recommend new methods and techniques for providing feedback to students
• Support teachers and teams in developing strategies to differentiate instruction
• Conduct extracurricular activities for students including arts fest.

• Collaborate with other members of your team or department to design learning experiences for your students
• Communicate frequently with your students and, as needed, with their parents
• Provide timely feedback to support your students’ learning
•  Provide guidance and support for students to aid in monitoring and supporting student wellbeing
• Use allowed virtual platforms to conduct advisory check-ins with students in their batches.
• Listen to their fears and provide some calming words and encouragement.
• Assess with families what technology they have available to them for virtual home visits.
• Schedule Interactive Video Conferencing or Telecommunication Home Visits with families
• During class hours teachers need to be online available to answer student questions via VIMALA PUBLIC SCHOOL APP, Zoom, Google Meet, or Google Classroom. 
• Wear appropriate attire if virtually delivering content to students. Be mindful of lighting and what is being displayed in the background. 
• Plan learning activities creatively 
• Communicate clear, student-friendly directions for learning activities
•   Learning activities can be lessons and / or can also be integrated between content areas (teachers can collaborate on learning activities for students to complete by the end of the week
• Require some form of evidence of student learning during continuous learning (such as: a written reflection, post, image, video, or Google quizzes, etc.) Providing options, choice boards, or menus, are a great way to give students some voice and choice around ways they can demonstrate their learning.
• Develop activities/lesson that helps students sustain and/or deepen their understanding of previously taught content and skills. Review previously taught content or provide opportunities for enrichment around previously taught content.
• Teachers should stick on to the Annual pedagogical plan and submit weekly updates on the completion of the portions to the Principal via e-mail.
• Teachers should keep the records of Teacher’s Diary, Tests & Integrated and Experiential Learning Activities conducted, progress track of students, anecdotes, and the resources used.
• Learning outcome should be identified for every chapter and the same should be included in APP.

• Communicate regularly with the subject or classroom teachers
• Offer to scaffold or modify assignments, as necessary, for students on your caseload to support subject or classroom teachers
• Help subject or classroom teacher differentiate lessons and activities for the students on your caseload
• Communicate regularly with students on your caseload and/or their parents to ensure they have success with online learning
• Provide supplementary learning activities for students on your caseload who may benefit from additional practice to close academic and curricular gaps
• Provide supplementary learning activities for students in targeted academic groups that meets the needs of small groups or individual students, in order to add an additional layer of instruction on to the regular classroom instruction
•  Communicate regularly with students and parents in the grade or course level classrooms you support to ensure students have success with online learning
•   Monitor the progress of students in the grade or course level classrooms you support and provide timely feedback

• Serve as liaison for communication with students/families in crisis from school during class hours.
• Maintain bank of social-emotional lessons
• Host Office Hours at set times for students to access counseling sessions virtually with a prior appointment through Principal.

• Ensure all students have online access to ebooks via online services.
• Collaborate with colleagues to find resources for high-quality learning experiences and research
• Regularly check in with subject and classroom teachers to identify ways to support their design of learning experiences
• Maintain and update online library site for obtaining resources
• Be available for teachers and students as needed for support
